Web Development with Claude Code: From First Page to Live Application

Build real websites and web applications from scratch with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL, using Claude Code as…

About this course

This course teaches you to build websites and web applications from your first page to a live, secure application, and to use an AI coding assistant, Claude Code, as a helper rather than a replacement for understanding. It is for students, beginners, aspiring developers and entrepreneurs, and every stage is project-driven: you build, test and explain real work.

You will set up your tools, learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and then learn how Claude Code works in a project: writing clear prompts, planning first, reviewing every change, and using Git to recover from mistakes. You will add a backend with PHP and a MySQL database, build secure registration and login with roles, and bring everything together in complete applications with dashboards and reports. Later stages cover APIs and payments concepts, website security, testing and debugging, and deploying to a real hosting account with a public address.

The emphasis is on understanding and verifying the work an AI produces: you will learn to spot invented code, security weaknesses and wrong assumptions before they reach your users. Tools, accounts and features change quickly, so the course teaches lasting skills and tells you where to check the current official documentation. If you cannot use Claude Code, you can follow every exercise with another AI assistant or by writing the code yourself. The course ends with a final project chosen from eight options, from a portfolio website to an e-commerce or loan management system, which you demonstrate with evidence of testing and deployment.

What you will learn

  • Explain how websites work and the roles of frontend, backend and full-stack development
  • Set up a professional local development environment with an editor, Git, a terminal and XAMPP
  • Build responsive pages with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Direct Claude Code with clear prompts, plan first, review every change and recover with Git
  • Build dynamic PHP and MySQL applications with secure forms, sessions and prepared statements
  • Implement registration, login, roles and protected pages that are enforced on the server
  • Integrate APIs, find and fix common security weaknesses, and test an application thoroughly
  • Deploy an application to a public URL and present a documented final project
