Mastering Your Pitch: Win Investors, Customers and Partners

Learn to build and deliver a pitch that wins investors, customers, grant panels and partners: story structure, honest…

About this course

A good idea does not sell itself. Every founder, freelancer and community project leader eventually has to explain what they do, why it matters and what they need, in front of people who are busy and sceptical. A pitch is that explanation, shaped so the listener can say yes. This course teaches you how to build one from scratch and how to deliver it with confidence.

You will learn who you are pitching to and what each audience cares about, how to prepare a 30-second, a 2-minute and a 10-minute version, and the classic story structure from problem to the ask. You will practise writing sharp problem and solution statements, showing traction and numbers honestly, and asking for money with a clear plan. Then you will design a simple deck, write a one-page summary and an email pitch, and prepare for competitions and grant applications.

The later modules cover your voice, pace and body language, how to manage nerves, rehearsal methods, answering tough questions, pitching on video calls, the basics of negotiation and term sheets in plain words, follow-up, learning from rejection and a complete pitch day plan. Examples come from East African businesses, and every lesson ends with a practical task.
